My name is Caitlin Conover, I’m an autistic, disabled, single, homeschooling mom to an autistic daughter. I have lived an unconventional life. Dedicated to following my instincts and my faith even when it leads me to great and unconventional challenges. Like committing myself to my daughter’s care, despite financial, social, and familial pressures.
And now I feel called to another act of service. I feel compelled to run for office, specifically for California’s congressional 24th with the Green Party. I’m raising my daughter to stand up for herself and others and I have no doubt she will be part of a positive change in the world. But I can’t leave all the work to her. My daughter is halfway to adulthood, and I’m committed to delivering her a more peaceful, loving, healthy, and financially secure world than I brought her into. We're a grassroots funded campaign. We need your support. Please donate here. https://givebutter.com/DJRWfA
We all know the solution to our country’s terrible healthcare system. Medicare for all is the morally and fiscally responsible option. I have a plan to use a combination of outside and inside pressure to finally get Medicare for All past, lifting a huge financial and emotional burden for all Americans.
For too long our banks have been “too big to fail” while our people have been condemned to lives of constant financial distress. It’s time for us to have a streamlined social safety net that will ensure if you lose your job, get injured, sick, or have an emergency expense like a home or vehicle repair, you know you will be instantly and sufficiently covered. If you are disabled, you won’t have to wait years and live on nothing to qualify. It’s time to ensure that the American people are “Too Big To Fail”.
It’s unconscionable that in 2026 uterus holders are still solely responsible for this nation's children. Not only is it an inequitable burden on women, it treats our most vulnerable community members as an after thought. As unimportant. As unworthy of care. As a result, our children are depressed, anxious, traumatized, and suicidal. We have a foster care to juvie to prison pipeline. We are not caring for our children. And it shows. It’s time for us to institute nationalized childcare where every child is equally cared for and educated within that framework. No longer will our children’s care and education be determined by where they live or how much money they have. We need community centers that provide childcare, education, safe third spaces in increasingly uninhabitable climates, and meals so we can come together and ensure all community members are fed. Cultivating community isn’t just for the poor, it’s a mechanism to keep us all safer and healthier. Because a welcoming and accepting community creates mental and physical safety for people of all backgrounds. Where neighbors can support and protect one another. These community centers will be surrounded by a combination of private market and socialized housing.
